Best Steak in the States!

Posted by Steakbusinessman on 12/20/2008

I would love to take a minute of your time and share with you the gold mine of the south. A hidden gem of a restaurant in the heart of Tennessee! The Bald Headed Bistro is now my new favorite restaurant in the United States. I am a business man who has spent hours of my life wining and dining clients at premier restaurants across the country and beyond. Whether its Tavern on the Green in NYC or Morton's in Chicago, I consider myself a strong critic and lover of steaks. I hosted a group of 12 businessmen at the Bistro over a month ago and I still remember and think about my experience. The appetizers were pristine, especially the artichoke souffle. A hot cheesy dip packed full of artichoke hearts and spinach. Little did I know that was just the start! For the entrees, most of us ordered the Filet Oscar while a few others tried fresh Maine Lobster tails. WOW! I couldn't believe the steak. From what our servers explained the meat was prepared using a combination of rotisserie smoke and a double broiler. This gave the steak a mix of great flavors both on the outside and inside. I also really enjoyed the steamed asparagus and the sauteed mushrooms with blue cheese. The wine list was perfect and although there were a few wines I would have loved, there was more than enough to satisfy. Finally, last but not least, are service was impeccable. Our two servers, Dan and Jeff, were entertaining and very knowledgeable with any question about food or drink. They created the perfect setting for our meeting and were very attentive to our needs. Its hard to find service like these two men provided anywhere. Please do yourself a favor, and make a trip to the Bald Headed Bistro! Five stars!

Me and my date attended the Bald Headed Bistro last month and will never forget such a great experience! They have the best scotch collection I have ever experienced!!They have the Best Scotch Collection I have ever seen!!!We both started out with the Blackened Ahi Tuna that was served with a Wasabi based sauce and the best cold slaw i have ever tasted! I then cut into my 12 oz fillet that had been covered with Oscar crab meat! The fillet was served on a sizzling hot plate causing a mouthwatering effect! My date had ordered the Southwestern Grouper. I had to have a taste and was i impressed! The Bald Headed Bistro is a MUST !

Exceptional service, elegant dining with a western motif and a wide variety of dishes to chose from. The Bistro is my favorite after party mingling spot and I visit every birthday for a celebratory dinner with family.

Not a five star

I was visiting Cleveland and my friend wanted to eat at this resturant. Since we didn"t have to many places to choose from we decided we"d try it. I ordered the pizza and my friend ordered salmon, and we started with the seared tuna ap. So let"s start with the tuna. It was served with a coldslaw. Now I know it"s Tennessee but come on!! My pizza srarted out ok (not like home) until I bit into a rock that almost broke a tooth. My friend did enjoy her salmon, so that saved the evening. The bistro is ok for Cleveland, TN but I would not call it a five star resturant. And for a small town it"s way over priced! But we loved the service. Thanks

Southern Western Grouper and Shrimp dish was outstanding!

The Bald headed Bistro is known for their delicious mouth watering steaks, but last Saturday I tried the grouper & shrimp dish. The dinner was terrific. The grouper was light and flaky and the dried tomato sauce complemented the entire entree. It had been a while since I had a seafood dish that not only was delight to eat but did not have that fish smell one often gets at lesser restaurants. The wait staff was very professional and attentive. My family and I sat outside on the Bistro's covered patio. The breeze through throughout the patio made the evening very pleasant. Having dinner at the Bistro is worth the drive from Ooltewah or where ever you live and I look forward to trying their other dinner items on the menu.
