What a refreshing small town feeling. It's like my dog doesn't have to leave my house at all. I loved the workers and I loved the hair cut on my dog. So many experienced dog people in one building, doing so many great things. I loved this place and recommend it to anyone that loves their dog liek their child.

I brought my dog in to get him shaved and they did not listen to what I asked at all! They ended up shaving him to the skin, leaving several razor burn spots that he has now licked, and according to the vet, are now infected. When I went back in requesting a refund, they refused. They stated that I had asked him to be smooth, which apparently means shaved completely of all hair. I am not a groomer, so smooth to me means not choppy. I wanted him to have a 1/4 inch shave, not shaved to the skin. They were very rude to me and told me that I am wrong to put him on antibiotics and that it is absurd that I want a refund. The owner said, "That is an interesting concept. So if you get a bad haircut you expect your stylist to refund your money?" I said, "Yes, if they butchered my hair and didn't cut it the way I asked." And she laughed! Don't take your animals to these rude, obnoxious people!

I am hurt and shocked to see this review. With 30 years experience we definately know how to shave a dog. As per the signed detailed request of the owner, this heavily coated dog was professionally and carefully trimmed down to the under coat. With our 1/2 price spring special this big dog got the full care treatment for $20. Amazing value for 2 hours of work on a dog that is presented in full dense coat. Every animal that enters the doors at Lucky Dog is treated like our own. I personally have trained hundreds of groomers over 7 years at college level. I have 30 years experience in animal husbandry, breeding, showing, training, certified behavioralist and breeder of some of the Top dogs in North America. I know dogs!! I Professionally stepped in when my groomer was being harrassed, I requested to see the dog and carefully examined his entire body. He was happy and in good humour. There were NO shaver burns or broken skin anywhere on the dog. There was a slight irritation(without excessive redness or broken skin)on the dogs penal shaft from him licking his privates. The dog was licking his private parts ONLY! I did not wish to have a confrontation with the owner over the dogs needs to personally attend to his urges. We believe the owner did not really want to pay for anyone to do 2 hours of work on her dog and therefore complained to get money back, plain and simple. The owner in question attended in person in the grooming salon and gave verbal instruction to the groomer to take more hair off the dog, before she left the grooming area. Three individuals heard the owner complimenting that "he looks good, this if fine". Every cleint is gladly able to comment and have alterations done to their dog before ever leaving our facility. We want them and their dog to be delighted with our services.
